Recipe Introduction
"Oh boy. The first time I saw this on a menu, I had to order it. Nothing about this brownie in a pie plate makes me mad. If a slice of this warm, gooey, indulgent, rich, fudgey pie isn't enough, check out the garnishes—whipped cream, chocolate shavings, and chocolate chips. Dessert just doesn't get any better."
List of Ingredients
◦ 4 ounces 60% bittersweet chocolate, chopped
◦ 1 ounce unsweetened chocolate, chopped
◦ 7 tablespoons unsalted butter
◦ 1 cup sugar
◦ 4 large eggs
◦ 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
◦ ¼ teaspoon table salt
◦ ⅔ cup all-purpose flour
◦ ¾ cup milk chocolate morsels
◦ 1 premade chocolate cookie piecrust (unbaked)
◦ Whipped cream, chocolate shavings, and mini semisweet chocolate chips
Recipe
Preheat the oven to 350° F.
Melt the bittersweet chocolate, unsweetened chocolate, and butter together in the top of a double boiler over simmering water. Remove the pan from the heat. Put the sugar into a bowl and, using a spatula, add the melted chocolate mixture to the sugar and mix well. Mix in the eggs, one at a time, making sure each egg is well combined before adding the next one. Stir in the vanilla and salt. Mix in the flour, ¼ cup at a time, until well combined. Fold in the milk chocolate morsels. Pour the filling into the crust.
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out almost clean. Let the pie cool completely on a wire rack. Garnish as desired with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, and mini chocolate chips.
