List of Ingredients
1 1/2 cups shortening, or butter
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup dark molasses
2 teaspoons vanilla
4 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons cinnamon
additonal cinnamon and sugar mixed together for topping
Recipe
Beat together the shortening and the sugar. Add the eggs, molasses and vanilla and beat two minutes to mix well. Add the remaining dry ingredients except the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Refrigerate at least one hour. Roll dough into walnut sized balls and dip tops into cinnamon-sugar mixture. Bake @ 350° for 10-11 minutes. Allow to cool completely before serving. Makes 6 dozen
