    Grandma Bogey's Crumb Cake

    List of Ingredients




    1 cup of margarine
    2 cups of light brown sugar, firmly packed
    4 cups of flour, sifted
    1 teaspoon of baking soda
    A pinch of salt
    2 eggs, slightly beaten
    1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
    16 ounces of sour cream

    In a large bowl, with electric mixer, combine margarine, brown sugar and flour to make fine crumbs. Reserve 1 cup of crumbs. Add remaining ingredients, mixing at low speed until moist. Beat at medium speed 2 minutes, scraping bowl often. Pour batter into 2 greased and floured oblong pans (71 1/2 x 11 x 1 1/2 inches). Sprinkle tops with reserved crumbs. Bake in 350ºF. oven for 40 minutes. Cake tests done when toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
