Cream of Chicken Soup

1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup light cream
3 cups chicken broth
1 1/2 cup finely chopped cooked chicken
dash of pepper
In a large saucepan melt butter or margarine; stir in flour. Stir in milk, cream, and broth. Cook and stir till mixture is slightly thickened and bubbly; reduce heat. Stir in chicken and pepper; heat through. Garnish with snipped chives and parsley, if desired. Makes 4 servings.
