    Two-Step Raspberry Bars
    Garnish each serving with slices of orange and a few fresh raspberries.


    List of Ingredients




    Step 1:
    1/2 cup butter, softened
    8 ounces cream cheese, softened
    2 cups sugar
    4 eggs
    2 teaspoons almond extract
    Juice and zest from 1 small orange
    3 cups self-rising flour
    1 cup finely chopped almonds

    Recipe



    Cream the butter, cream cheese and sugar together with an electric mixer in a large bowl.

    Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the almond extract, the orange juice and zest, flour and nuts. Beat until smooth, about 2 minutes. Spread batter into a greased and floured jelly roll pan.

    Step 2:
    2 (12-ounce) cans raspberry filling
    Powdered sugar

    Spread the raspberry filling evenly over the batter in the jelly roll pan. With a knife swirl the filling into the batter with a circular wavy motion. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. When completely cooled, dust with the powdered sugar.

    Tip: Use strawberry or cherry pie filling if you prefer.
