3 lbs. lean steak
1 large onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1/4 C. vegetable oil
2 C. chicken broth
1 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. pepper
1 T. flour
1/4 C. water
7 oz. can green chilies

Instructions
Trim fat from steak and cut into 1-inch cubes. Cook steak, onion and garlic in oil in 4-quart Dutch oven, stirring frequently until steak is no longer raw; drain. Stir in broth, salt and pepper. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer about 1 hour, stirring occasionally, until steak is tender.
Shake flour and water in tightly covered container; stir into steak mixture. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute. Stir in chilies.
1 medium cubed potato may be added 1/2 hour before soup is finished
