    2 cups water
    4 cups brown sugar
    2 t. maple extract

    Recipe



    In an enamel or a glass pot, bring water to a rapid boil. Pour in all
    the
    brown sugar at once and stir until it is completely dissolved. Remove
    from heat
    and stir in the maple extract. Pour into a sterilized jar and let stand
    for 24
    hours at room temperature before using. Store remaining syrup in
    refrigerator
    for up to 6 months. Variation: Add 1 t. butter flavored extract.
